The regular season officially begins.

April 8th, 2019 - April 21st, 2019
The post-season is underway, giving teams two weeks to complete their matches.

« on: February 04, 2019, 02:16:47 pm »

The league will consist of at least 6 teams, played in a 3v3 setting. The map pool will have 8 total maps, with 5 of those maps randomly assigned to each match. Each match is best 2 out of 3, and teams will eliminate 1 map and choose 1 map from the 5 assigned to them. The remaining map will be used for a tiebreaker round.

In the regular season, players are given double HP (400/200). The matches consist of a 5 minute round with Sudden Death occurring until all players on one team are eliminated. In Sudden Death, health will degenerate, which forces the teams to make calculated moves depending on their health, armor, and weapon situation.

Teams are not placed in divisions but will be randomly assigned matchups. The number of matchups is subject to change based on turnout. Teams with the best overall record will advance to the playoffs.

In the playoffs, teams will choose a homefield map in a best of 5 setting. The higher seed will play their map twice, and the third round will be the lower seeds homefield map. If there is still no winner after 3 rounds, the 4th round is the lower seeds homefield map again. Any subsequent round will feature the homefield maps going back and forth (format: 1, 1, 2, 2, 1, 2, etc).

Matches in the playoffs will feature an extended playing time of 7-10 mins. per round and players will have standard HP and Armor (200/100).

Captains will be handpicked by the league administrators prior to the general sign up period. Players interested in being captains will sign up and then be chosen based on the following factors: Availability, leadership, and the ability to cultivate player growth by not stacking teams with all the best players. After each captain has been chosen, they will in turn choose teammates and sign up as a team.

In addition to team signups, free agent signup is available for players who do not get selected onto a team. This will give captains an opportunity to see who else is ready and able to play not only prior to the start of the regular season, but during it as well. There will be plenty of chances for a free agent to sub in during a match.

General Discussion / Multiplayer Doom Federation: An Introduction
« on: January 28, 2019, 01:55:41 pm »

This is not your typical doom league; we're taking all that we have learned from running mostly CTF over the years and applying it to every other gamemode you can think of. From Team Last Man Standing, to Survival, to Domination, and everything in between. We want this to be an experience like nobody has ever had before.

As an overall community, online doom has often found itself segregated into various different corners. Single-player experts and mappers had no interest in getting involved in the ultra-competitive multiplayer doom scene, and vice versa, and the situation has not improved throughout the years. The Multiplayer Doom Federation is an attempt the bridge the gap - to combine the competitive side of online doom with the fun side. We want a community run by the people, who play what they want to play and contribute to how it gets played.

Our desire is to have this community accessible to longtime veterans, newbies, and everyone in between. While some of our events may be geared towards players with the most skill, we will strive to make each experience as inclusive as possible.  Although a majority of our events will take place on Zandronum, this league does not call one specific multiplayer port "home". The best experience will determine where each event is hosted.

The best way to get involved is to join our Discord server.

« on: January 28, 2019, 12:27:01 pm »

Commissioners are the leaders of the Multiplayer Doom Federation, responsible for overseeing all scheduled events as well as the overall growth of the community. Unless otherwise stated, during events they are the ones who will deal with any issues or disputes that occur.

Council Members

Council Members are an integral part of the Multiplayer Doom Federation, providing input regarding each event and helping shape the direction the league takes. They have an active role as a part of the staff enforcing the rules and vision of the league.

Staff members are not involved in the day-to-day on-goings of the league, but are the owners and maintainers of the resources being used, such as the servers or the websites. You can contact them directly if you experience any problems.
